A very unusual request for an 18th birthday, but it turned out very well. I hope it is not the end of a beautiful friendship.
Base card and gems from Craft creations.
Strips of paper are from a paperstack, I forgot the name.
The pig and name are drawn and cut with Pazzles, the nose is cut with 2 punches.
The edges are all inked with beige ink and I've uesed pro markers for the red on the feet and nose.
Ribbon and wobbly eyes from my box.

It's been a while.....

Hi everyone,
Yes a long time since I was here, there were not enough hours in the day, so I am going to try and post up a card every day instead of a whole series.

It has been raining here constantly since last night, but I prefer this to the snow and frost across the water.

Today was wedding day as I had an order for 4 wedding cards for the same couple, the text was in Irish so the brain was taxed. Here is one of them.

The dress is drawn and cut with Pazzles, I used a daisy punch for the flower and a spellbinder die.

Lots of wedding work for me yet, I am meeting a lovely bride on saturday to confirm her choice of invitations and a few details need to be ironed out," it is all in the detail "with weddings, just what I love.

This card took a while, as it is not my usual quick and easy style but I enjoyed making it.
I am entering it in the http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/cutting_cafe_blog/2011/09/case-it-tuesdays-with-the-cafe-1.html challenge. I have admired Regina's work for years and she inspired me to get a Pazzles.

The pumpkin, oak leaf and acorns are all drawn by me and cut with Pazzles from various pieces of left over card. The double bow ribbon is from a left over as well and the sentiment is computer generated. A big thank you to Jak from http://www.jakheath.com/ for the tutorial on the double bow.

At last some time to work on the blog, it's been a busy summer with lots of new card customers.

Back to school this week in Ireland, this card is inspired by Jackie Mooney, thanks for the idea of the pencils made of wooden skewers and coloured with markers.

The booties on the card are an embossing stencil by Sizzix, it was one of the first ones I bought so it is very old but comes in handy for odd requests. I punched the circle and the inner circle is a beaded nestie.

A saffire anniversary card, the blue card comes outblack on the picture, the foto is scanned from the original and matted with white and blue card.

The bug was for our granddaughter, she loves bugs. This one is made with circle punches, the 3, the name and the leaf are cut with Pazzles

These cards were made a few weeks ago, the inspiration came from Jules and the snippet challenge at http://jules-alwayswithaheart.blogspot.com/.I copied the LO as best as I could and they came out very different. Both cards are made from left over card, paper and bits that have been in a box for months.

This month has been extra busy with wedding cards so here is a selection of them. These 2 are for the same couple, I made their invites as well in the red and white coulour scheme.

The next 2 are for cat lovers and the customers wanted cats on the outside.

This card was a special order, the lady is leaving her job and moving to another department. She likes blue and butterflies and was delighted with it.

as it is made with all the last bits of card of my favourite stacks. Time for new ones I think.

The butterflies are cut from DCWV, Cafe Mediterranean, the name is cut from coordinations and the ribbon is the last of a beautiful turquoise blue. Everything was drawn and cut on Pazzles.

Jules sunday snippet challenge

It is raining buckets out there, so I have been looking through my scrap box and there is such a lot of paper in there I decide to take Jules from http://jules-alwayswithaheart.blogspot.com/
up on the challenge. I love reading her blog and she is a great inspiration. I would love to name the other lady who gave me the inspiration for these cards but for the life of me I can't remember which blog I saw the tutorial on, so if you see this, thank you very much for showing me a way to use up very small bits of paper. I looked through all my saved blogs but it is not there, so if anyone recognises the technique let me know. It looks as if I'll have to invest in a few more nesties but that won't be any hardship.
I have also been playing around with my new photoshop and I love using it. I am still a beginner but I altered a couple of pictures of our cats and so far I'm pleased with them, but they are not for public vieuwing yet.
So here are my 3 snippet cards

I used strips of backing paper and card, glued them on a piece of card a little bigger than the shape I wanted to cut, when dry I the card cut with different nesties. I love the effect, and it uses up lots of scraps. All the other elements in the cards are made up from small bits of left over card, the flowers took for ever but I have loads now for use on future projects. The ribbon is from the box and the swirls are die cut from left overs as well. Amazing how productive a rainy day can be.

Nothing to do with cards, just a couple of pictures of who I ran into over the week-end. It was the North West garden show in Castlefinn last week-end and I wanted to have a look for some new plants for the garden but all of a sudden I found myself in the middle of a photo shoot with Diarmuid. He was very nice and is much better looking in real life than on the TV.
Needless to say all ideas of plant hunting went out of the window, I came home with 2 Rosemary plants and forgot all about some nice ones I'd seen earlier. Ah well, it was the highlight of the show for me.

I have done some in the past but it does not come natural to me. Until I discovered Photoshop, I'm still learning......

Week 6 at http://polkadoodle.blogspot.com/ and Amore is the theme, it need to relate to a film or song. I'm not very good at this sort of thing but I made a Valentine for my DH, very simple and clean, based on the song "Wild Thing" so here it is , a little late but I've had a lot of work this week.

The heart is cut with Pazzles, then embossed with part of the sizzix baby folder. The sentiment and music are computer generated.The music image is a piece of clipart but I cannot remember which site I got it from so thank you unknown artist, I love it.

Week 5 at http://polkadoodle.blogspot.com/ and it's hearts. I made this card a couple of weeks ago with the little owls from Nicky. The first time I saw them they came free with a magazine, since them I've bought them as these images are my favourites.

No Pazzles for this card, just Fiskars punch for the border and Spellbinders beaded circles as a mount for the owls and the sentiment. The hearts are done with a punch as well. all the paper and card used are from scraps in my box, so is the ribbon.

This card was made for my friend next door, it was her 40th and she had a great party to celebrate the occasion. An idea about a special card was lodged in my head, it was simple enough thinking about it, but the actual making was a different story. It took ages of messing around but the result was worth it. It was a one and only creation as other names don't lend themselves so well to duplicating and mirroring. There again I have an idea to a similar but easier solution.......hmmmmm

I used 12x12 white Basill card for the base and lots of different papers from various stacks.Ribbon, flowers butterflies and gems from my box, sentiment computer generated and the actual card was designed and cut with Pazzles.

The base card is from Craft Creations, and all the paper and card used are from my scrap box.The tree, owls and birdhouse are drawn and cut with Pazzles, the little flowers are cut with a very old Sizzix die and there is a small cat sticker and a key charm there who were looking lonely in the box. Ribbon from the stash as well.White card embossed with Swiss dots from cuttlebug.

A very happy and creative new year to all my visitors.

This week I took part in another challenge from http://craftycreationschallenges.blogspot.com/, a little different to my usual style but I really enjoyed it.
The base card is from Craft Creations, the beige card from Coordinations, blue and beige paper from my box, the cherry red card from The Paper Mill and the plum paper is from a recycled envelope (I keep all the coloured envelopes from received cards to use) and I embossed it with the Cuttlebug Paisley folder. I punche one side of the patterned beige paper with Fiskars daisy border punch.
The hat was cut and drawn on Pazzles, feathers, beads and ribbon from my craft box. I used a Spellbinders beaded circle and the sentiment is done on the computer.
Sorry the picture is not better but the light here is terrible.

On saturday afternoon I realised I had a craft fair on so my Pazzles had to do overtime. I cut lots of bears and other seasonal stuff and took everything with me yesterday to the fair. Sitting there putting my cards together created lots of interest with people and I managed to make about 12 cards. Here is my favourite.

Birthday card for a guy who loves playing the flute and makes wedding cakes, everything drawn and cut with Pazzles

I liked that card a lot, not so fussy and I love the message. There were some nice free message tags in a cardmaking magazine and decided to try and make similar ones in word, it is easy to do and they look different.

Another card I like very much, he wants to become an architect and loves hurling.

The Donegal Ladies are playing a very important match this week-end, I got this order yesterday for the 5 cards wishing them luck.

As it has been such a beautiful week it would be a shame not to take any pictures of the garden, it is looking very well for the moment, I sometimes wish I could stop time.

The whole process took just over an hour and I felt realy good about having seen this in real life instead of on wildlife programs. My only regret is that I'm not a better photographer.

Peony rose, perfect blooms this year as we've had no rain for ages.

The Clematis Montana is the most beautiful I've ever seen it, perhaps the cold winter helped to make it bloom so well

A couple of weeks ago I entered the Spring Challenge for Crafty Ribbons and became second with an Easter card created for a friend

As someone who loves ribbons this was perfect and I can't wait to use them on some of my cards. The ribbons have spring blooms on them and the colours are out of this world.

*******************************Snow is still falling

Just as spring was promising the first crocusses and the snowdrops were barely out we had another load of snow today. At first it looked as if it was going to melt straight away but at lunchtime it started snowing again and now we have a good couple of inches. As usual I could not resist taking some pictures this morning, it was also a good test for my new camera. Enjoy....

Our 2 cats enjoyed themselves for a few hours, they love playing in the snow

A thrush waiting for lunch, normally they are very shy but with this cold weather they have joined the usual garden visitors. I gave her and the other birds dried fruit, nuts, some fat and fresh water, they need all the help they can get in these cold conditions.

I made this card for someone special
I used 2 different shades of white card, punched the edge with fiskars borderpunch, the top layer is vellum with sparkly stars on. some ribbon, a snowflake and a few pearls. I love the result. This is the blog that inspired me. http://crookedcardcreations.blogspot.com/

Simply put
One piece of patterned paper, One embellishment, and One sentiment - that's it!
I could not resist this one as I had to make a very simple card last week. I printed the paper myself, drew and cut the magnifying glass with Pazzles. A piece of acetate resembles the glass. I was made for a graduate in Forensic science

On this card I used my new embossing folders from quickcutz, they do not leave any marks on the card, I love this one in particular.
All the embellishments are drawn and cut with Pazzles.

At last time to upload a few more pictures. As it is wedding time I've had lots of orders, every single card is personalised and I love making them.
The birthday card is for a lady with a picture of her dog. The filmstrip is printed on vellum to give a paint effect. All the embellishments on the cards are cut with Pazzles, The embossing on some cards is done with my new Sizzix embossing folders.
Sorry for the quality of the pictures, I think I might need a new camera.

An ever popular owlcard and butterfly both drawn and cut on Pazzles.

2 new home cards, the house was designed and cut on Pazzles, thanks Karina for the paper and Elisa for the brads.

The other card was done with MS punches, thanks to Babs for the paper.

The wedding card is an order and made in the same trend as the invites. I used an old embossing plate for the side and the fiskars heart punch.Thanks to Cecilia for the silver hearts

I was asked last week to do some photocards and as I take hundreds of picturs every month of our flowers in the garden there was no problem finding some. We had this lovely foal in the field opposite us last year, he was just one day old when the picture was taken. The tulips are one of my favourite spring flowers, this one is "Queen of the night"
